Message: We had to tell you how much we learned
from and enjoyed the
terrier racing at Lulworth countryside show. We
were anti
country pursuits as they inevitably include
killing. After
watching the racing and seeing how much the
dogs enjoyed
themselves and speaking to you on Saturday, we
began to
understand the sense of the countryside. The
remark that went
home was when you said about rats and if they
were not
controlled in rural areas by the likes of your
terriers and
thousands like them, rats would spill over into
towns and
cities even more than they do now. What a
sobering thought. We
live and learn. Perhaps you're right. There is
a place and
reason for most things. Thanks a million for an
entertaining
insight.

Message: May I with my family congratulate the
terrier racing team on a
truly magnificent show at Lulworth Castle this
last weekend.
We live in the country and a show promoting
country activities
is excellent in it's concept so we attended it
on both days
together with our guests. The racing was just
the right mix of
true country sport and great fun with the dogs.
Our guests were
mesmerised by them, in the words of one of
them, appearing to
be little killers chasing the lure and yet so
gentle when we
came to see them afterwards. Thank you for a
top class show.

So far this week they
have ripped up the Christmas presents my wife
took hours to
wrap, grabbed an end each of the sweater she
bought for me and
ripped it in shreds, pulled the christmas tree
on the floor and
dragged it in the pile one of them deposited on
the carpet and
smeared it all over the carpet and the tree,
and last but not
least, one bit my mother in laws ass as it was
descending on to
the sofa and he even managed to whip away in
time before it
squashed him. Happy Christmas.

it took me and 5 of the neighbours, a lot of
running about and
swearing from us and a chase in the car to
catch him. He only
came back home of his own accord because he was
bored. he
chases birds, cats, steals rubbish, steals

Message: Here's a poem I wrote recently about
my JRT pup Belle.

'BELLE'

Im only nine weeks old you know,
And very, very petite,
Im mostly white, with two brown spots,
And sharp claws upon my feet.
The stairs I found a problem,
But soon mastered this,
Going up is now quite easy,
Going down, - its hit or miss!
Im told off - yes, quite often,
But, what is a pup to do,
I only want to play and run,
And chew and chew and chew!
The Boss points her finger,
And tells me no, no, no
I think that she is playing,
And chew her finger so!
All in all, its quite good here,
Although I get confused,
One minute Im told good girl
Next minute Shes not amused.
The first lesson was to learn my name,
Well that was easy stuff,
Now she wants me potty trained,
Well I think enoughs enough!!
She puts paper all around the floor,
Expecting me to wee,
And if I miss the paper,
Im grabbed up, and out we flee.
That puts me right off my stroke,
Im sure you understand,
I just, cant get it though my head,
I need to wee outside on land.
Dins dins is the best word,
That I have learnt of late,
Im never too busy playing,
To forfeit this wonderful date.
When Ive finished eating ,
My belly grows so large,
I waddle across the kitchen floor,
I feel like a huge barge.
Of course, once it goes in one end,
Its soon time for it to reappear.
And if I miss the paper again,
Away from my Boss, Ill steer!

You are welcome to put it on your web page.

Message: We enjoy Crufts very much and we are
involved in terriers in a
fairly big way. We are well known breeders of a
certain terrier
breed and have been breeding for 35 years. Why
is it that
labradors, collies, GSD's and the like are so
well represented
by displays at Crufts but the vastly popular
terrier is not.
There was no terrier racing at Crufts this
year. Why ever not?
You might as well call Crufts the Lab, Collie
and GSD Show as
far as this year's entertainment goes. It's a
pity. Your
terrier racing showed the public with proper
handling and
training, the terrier is a super little fellow
who ranks
alongside any collie, labrador or GSD as a
family member. We
feel strongly that terriers are being put on
the back shelf by
Crufts. If the public can't see them in high
profile action
having fun, they will only see them as killers
in the field.
All dogs are killers so come on, give terriers
a chance.

every show in the

dogs is at the

problems
associated with correct training. I dislike
watching dogs doing
circus tricks as it is demeaning to the canine

Regular visitors will be aware that it is not
our policy to
respond to messages via the guestbook, neither
do we delete
messages. in this case a response is necessary
to clarify a
case of mistaken identity. Because we are the
biggest and most
well known Terrier Racing Team & have a high
profile, many
people tend to think when that when they've
seen terrier racing
it must be us. As with other types of displays
we are not the
only ones - we are just the most famous one.
Copied but not
bettered.
We were indeed at the Portsmouth & Southsea
Show as we have
been for many years,& will be there again next
year. We were
also at the Showman's Show but WERE NOT inside
the circus
tent. However, a smaller terrier racing
display, not connected
with us, was present inside the tent. Our usual
Exhibition
Unit was prominently placed between the Main
Arena & the circus
tent and our unit was visited by many people
keen to book the
TYKES for future shows. We can assure
interested persons that
our usual high standards, our 45/50 dogs & our
Exhibition
Unit/Visitor Centre will continue to be at
shows all over the
UK just as they always have been. We are sorry
Mr & Mrs Harris

We saw you at the Portsmouth Show in August and
were
impressed at the quality of the display, the
information in the
commentary and the variety of dogs. We visited
the Showmans
Show in Newbury and you may remember we spoke
to your
representative from the East of England in the
circus tent
with the intention of booking you for our
company fiesta in May
next year. We were somewhat taken aback to see
the display was
nothing like you presented at Portsmouth. We
assumed you would
have the 50 dogs racing yet you said at the
Showmans Show you
bring 8 or 10. 10 terriers is hardly enough to
keep an
intelligent audience interested and you don't
appear to have
the big unit anymore. Not good value for money
and rather
disappointing. It could be an idea to change
your website to
explain what a show really gets.

We decided to try it

and fights.
One poor dog ended up at the vets with a ripped
tail. We tried
again the following week and couldn't keep the
rag on the
string, the string was pulled off by the dogs,
one got tangled
in it and it garroted his leg. It was pulled so
tight we had to
get the vet to get it off while the poor dog
was sedated. Oh
yes and more fights.
So we have abandoned that idea. How do you do
it? How do you
train them to be so excited yet they don't try
and murder each
other.

Message: We thought you might like to know our
success story thanks to
you. Our 8 year old daughter Penny was mauled
very badly when
she was 2. She has been scared stiff of dogs
since. Nothing we
have done has helped. She has been to theraphy,
puppy classes,
the vets, you name it. She saw your dogs at
Crufts and for the
first time since that horrid incident she
laughed at the terrier
dogs. She actually laughed. We were thrilled.
We just sat there
and stared in disbelief. The next day we sought
you out and a
very kind lady took us to see the dogs and
showed us a little
one so pretty and with big eyes. Our daughter,
scared at
first, actually touched a dog again. The lady
was so very kind,
she spoke to our daughter in a better way than
any therapist has
and eventually, Penny touched and then held the
beautiful
friendly dog. We were in tears as the little
dog licked Penny's
face. The happy ending is we now have a dog
chosen by Penny and
she looks just like the little brown and black
terrier that
cured our daughter's fears. Thank you from the
bottom of our
hearts and thank Crufts Dog Show for you being
there. A
million pounds would not buy what you have done
for Penny. It
has made our family complete to have our
daughter happy again
and to have a wonderful little dog in the
house.
An eternally grateful Gary Jane and Penny

very enjoyable. The
trouble is we could not see it properly due to
all the crowds of
people trying to see you. We came over to the
special events
area on Saturday especially to see the Tricky
Tykes. We thought
we arrived in plenty of time but could not get
through the
people . There were people climbing up the back
of the seats
and people were pushing each other in the
entrances trying to
watch your dogs running. We were very
disappointed not to be
able to see it all. We could hear the roars of
laughter but
cold only get glimpses of the dogs. May I be
cheeky and suggest
that you should be put on more than once so
everyone could have
a chance to see. Would it be feasable to have a
screen near the
ring so those who aren't lucky enough to get
close enough could
see what is happening. We will come again next
year and we hope
that we can see the Tricky tykes without the
struggle. If you
could have seen what was going on outside you
would see people
were pushing to get a glimpse of you and they
were becoming a
bit terse when they could come no closer.
