We have just about come to the end of the 2013 season and would like to thank all the show organisers who invited us to their shows. We hope you and your visitors enjoyed our performances as much as we enjoyed giving them. We have some new terriers to introduce for next year and they promise to be just as much fun as those who are now retiring. We have a great line up for 2014 and we hope to see new faces as well as our regulars.

I watched The Tricky Tykes Terrier Racing Display Team in the Arena which was very amusing. Who said 'Don't work with children and dogs?' It was fun to see the dogs enjoying themselves but even funnier watching the handlers trying to get the dogs off the lure or trying to catch them. As for the runs which included some hurdles, the collies were not interested in jumping them as they either ran around them or under them trying to get to the lure! It was a very funny bit of the entertainment. _______________________________________________________________

ADDITIONAL TERRIER RACING FORMAT FOR 2012
We have a new racing format for 2011 to add to the terriers 'CV's'. Agility Terrier Racing. It is based on the popular mini agility but with the ever elusive lure dodging around obstacles and into tunnels. If any show is interested in hearing more about this unusual terrier racing concept, please give us a ring and we will tell you more about it.

The season started with a series of bookings in the Emerald Isle which was very enjoyable for humans and dogs. Good old Irish hospitality was there in abundance as was a drop ot two of 'nectar' . We then had a break from mid April and started the season proper in May with warm weather thrown in for good measure. Due to the recession, we thought this season would be quiet - until bookings started coming in via the website, some with only a couple of weeks to the events. So we ended up having a busy season that even topped last years successful one. Recession or not, people want to be cheered up and the Tykes are well capable of that requirement. Just look at our guestbook. The Around Arena has proved popular with both large and small shows as it takes up no arena space at all. This has proved especially popular with horse shows where every minutein the ring is precious but alternative entertainment is a necessity for members of the family not disposed to sitting watching horses all day.
We have a busy September with some lovely events to end the season.
Thank you to all Show Organisers who booked us , we hope we helped to make your shows memorable ones.
We are now taking bookings for 2012 and will be pleased to quote for your show and to discuss your requirements.

2009 SEASON
The Tricky Tykes have had their busiest season ever starting in April and ending in September with a performance at the famous Animal Health Trust Open Day in Newmarket. The weather was perfect, the setting was perfect and the Tykes hilarious antics entertained the appreciatiive audience. The visitors dogs joined in and true to form, there were people, dogs and laughter everywhere. Not all the shows enjoyed such perfect weather however. Two were rained off as they could could not use the waterlogged ground and many more continued in wet soggy conditions. Still, the Tykes, even though covered in mud at some shows, carried on, oblivious to the mud. Typical terriers!
The Tykes started the season with their Around Arena Roadshow in Ireland with a pub garden tour. The terriers and handlers thoroughly enjoyed Irish hospitality! It was not just the terriers racing in a circle. Human heads were closely following!
They are now taking 2010 bookings for both versions of the terrier racing displays. Both cost the same. One is presented within your arena, whereas the Circular Terrier Racing can be set up anywhere on the showground you choose.
BARK IN THE PARK
The Tricky Tykes have been invited to take part in the Guide Dogs for the Blind's BARK IN THE PARK being held in the Vale of Glamorgan. The event is to celebrate 75 years of Guide Dogs for the Blind and what a necessary charity it is. Blue Peter will be filming at the event too so do come along, join in anh help to raise money for this very worthy organisation.

Most visitors to
the site will know of the famous commentator
Nick Brookes-Ward who commentates
at Crufts and many other major events
throughout the year. |
Nicks amusing
introductions of the Tykes at Crufts have
almost become a humorous legend in themselves
and Nick was often jokingly referred to as President of the Tricky Tykes Fan Club. |
The last time the
Tricky Tykes appeared at Crufts, the Tykes
Leaders along with some of the
Ringside Officials and long term familiar
faces at Crufts hatched an amusing plot
to give Nick a bit of a surprise. |
Team Leaders John Goddard-Fenwick & Lyn Moran managed to find an artist doing caricatures at Crufts and arranged for him to do one of Nick being chased across the Ring, microphone in hand by a pack of enthusiastic Tykes. |
 |
With the help of
some of the Kennel Club girls a photograph of
Nick was obtained and the artist duly
set to work. |
At the end of the
Tykes final performance that year Nick was
called
into the centre of the Ring ,
formally presented with the picture and officially
proclaimed to be the Tricky Tykes Fan
Club's Honorary President to the thunderous
applause of the audience. |
Nick was much amused and announced he
would get the cartoon framed. |
So now we are
proud to say he is - Honorary
President of the Tricky Tykes Fan Club. |
Thanks Nick. |
